Seed & Story Press is a family-owned children’s publishing company born in Tampa Bay, Florida, from one very real little dog with a very big sense of adventure.
Captain Finn doesn’t just appear in our books.

The real dog behind the stories
Finn’s adventures began as a puppy on and around Anna Maria Island, where his family operates a charter company. Boats, beaches, sandbars, dolphins, manatees and Florida’s Gulf Coast became his playground — and the inspiration for something much bigger.
As Finn continues exploring Florida, the United States and destinations around the world, his real adventures inspire new children’s stories and invite young readers to come along for the journey.
From real adventure to children’s book
Finn visits a destination. He experiences its wildlife, landmarks, culture and memorable places. Seed & Story transforms those experiences into children’s books and coloring books created primarily for preschool through second-grade readers.
The stories are designed to entertain while helping children discover real destinations, real animals, real landmarks and real experiences through Finn’s eyes.

Through Finn’s interactive social media and real-world adventures, families can see the real dog behind the books — visiting the places they’ve read about, meeting the animals and people that inspire his stories and discovering where he goes next.
Sometimes Finn’s adventure inspires the book. Sometimes the story gives Finn his next mission.

What began with one family’s dog exploring the waters around Anna Maria Island is becoming a growing library of children’s stories designed to encourage curiosity, reading, discovery and family adventure.
